Alan Zaremba is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curricula and Research for the College of Arts, Media, and Design at Northeastern University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Buffalo and MS and BA from the University of Albany. His doctoral dissertation centered on international newspaper reactions to the 1973 Arab Israeli War.Prior to his administrative appointment, Dr. Zaremba was on the Communication Studies faculty at Northeastern.

The second edition of his book Speaking Professionally: Influence, Power, and Responsibility at the Podium was published in late 2011. In 2010 Dr. Zaremba published Crisis Communication: Theory and Practice as well as the third edition of his text Organizational Communication. In 2008 Alan was the keynote speaker at the 8th Annual International Conference on Knowledge, Culture, and Change in Organisations held at Cambridge University.

Dr. Zaremba has received awards for excellence in teaching. He has twice earned Northeastern University's Excellence in Teaching Award, is a recipient of the State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2001 was one of two alums who received his alma mater's excellence in education alumni award.
